Unique fall outing of the Jarige Job foundation

Thousands of children in the Netherlands cannot celebrate their birthday because there is no money for it. Under the motto ‘Every child deserves a birthday', the Jarige Job foundation treats these children to a birthday box worth 35 euros. It contains everything you need for a real birthday. From October 15 to November 6, Jarige Job will be treating again. This time on an interactive fall outing: ‘Tour de Loer’.

The festive route of this first edition of ‘Tour de Loer’ takes you past 10 pop-up shops in the city center of Rotterdam. There is something unique to experience in every shop. Among other things, you can admire colorful scenes by renowned artists. There are also Insta-proof sets where visitors can take great photos. They can also discover the best gift ever, stand on stage as an artist and play E-sports. A digital tour guide accompanies the visitors during their festive tour.

Sustainable partnership
Many volunteers and partners are called upon to organize ‘Tour de Loer’, including Oldenburger|Fritom. Huib Lloyd, the director of Jarige Job, approached us for logistics. To be precise for the transportation of the inventory of the head office in Rotterdam to the pop-up shops. A request that we were happy to comply with out of our sustainable partnership.

Our colleague, senior forwarder Cor Klontje, has been committed to Jarige Job for many years. He has previously helped organize several campaigns. Last Wednesday he left his desk chair in our forwarding department and got on the truck to deliver the inventory to the pop-up shops. Cor: “I think it's great to contribute to the birthday boxes of Jarige Job. In addition, I am happy that my employer has a warm heart for the ‘Tour de Loer’ project.”
