““Every day, every ride is different. That’s what makes my job so great. Being a driver is a way of living."
Corné Koerts got his HGV license and add-ons in 2002. 5 years later, in 2007, he joined Oldenburger|Fritom as an international driver. To date, Corné is still a satisfied employee. Due to the freedoms that come with being an international driver, Corné has no interest of moving jobs or company. He ‘lives’ in his truck during the week, and he’s at home at weekends. Yes, he works many hours during the week, but it’s the diversity of his work that appeals to him.
Corné: “Every day, every ride is different. That’s what makes my job so great. Being a driver is a way of living. I drive my own clean, fuel sufficient truck. Sustainability is really important to Oldenburger|Fritom and it matters to me too.” Referring to the interaction with his colleagues, Corné states: “I interact mostly with the planners. Monday mornings they hand out my schedule and upon return they have the next assignment waiting for me. In between we regularly call each other to keep each other up-to-date.”
