Educational Cooperation

By means of educational cooperation Oldenburger|Fritom actively contributes to regional training possibilities and education. We find it important that knowledge and know-how are maintained in the Northern Netherlands. That’s why we open our doors to students of secondary schools and VET schools in the provinces of Groningen and Drenthe. We are an accredited work placement company for Noorderpoort and Deltion College and we also work closely with NHL Stenden University. Furthermore, we regularly give guest lectures on topics such as sustainable logistics and Lean Six Sigma.

Educational Cooperation: ChecktheBizz

We invite students of secondary schools and VET schools to come and visit us. In this way, we give them a look behind the scenes that makes it easier for them to choose a profession and/or further education. For us it’s a great way to discover upcoming talent and to meet our future colleagues.

A visit of these students to one of our sites consists of:

Educational cooperation in the region by Oldenburger|Fritom Logistic Solutions.

Accredited work placement company

Oldenburger|Fritom is an accredited work placement company. We are therefore authorized to provide internships and apprenticeships to VET-students. We often do this in collaboration with Noorderpoort and Deltion College.

ROC Noorderpoort has several branches in the Northern Netherlands. For Automotive and Logistics students are welcome at the branch in the city of Groningen. Since May 2015, Oldenburger|Fritom is a member of the Noorderpoort Advisory Board. Deltion College in Zwolle is also a Regional Training Centre for senior secondary vocational education. In addition, adult education is also offered.

Students from both ROCs can combine school and an internship at Oldenburger|Fritom for several positions. Some examples include:

Business administrator
Logistics Team Leader
Manager Transport & Logistics
Commercial assistant

In case of mutual contentment, this often leads to a contract of employment.

NHL Stenden University

NHL Stenden University has several branches in the northern part of the Netherlands and abroad. In the city of Emmen students can follow the courses Logistics Management and International Logistics Management. Sustainable logistics is central to both courses and the same goes for the circular economy.

Oldenburger|Fritom has worked with NHL Stenden University for a number of years. Since 2013 we are a member of their Economics & Logistics Advisory Board. Next to this, we offer the students internships. These internships also regularly result in an employment contract as soon as the student has completed the course.

General Affairs Manager Frans Andeweg is Master Black Belt and regularly gives guest lectures on the Lean Six Sigma method.

Guest lectures and our own training center

Our educational cooperation also consists of giving guest lectures. We do this at NHL Stenden University, among others. Subjects vary from sustainability in the logistic industry to supply management according to the Lean Six Sigma method.

We also organize presentations, workshops and trainings at our own locations, including our BREEAM Outstanding DC. Here we have our own training center. Our presentations cover a variety of topics as well, including our value added services for customers in the high tech industry.
