Oldenburger|Fritom is a business partner of FC Emmen and has been a proud sponsor of this football club for many years. We have the joint ambition to provide a structural contribution to corporate social responsibility in the south-eastern part of the province of Drenthe. This is why Oldenburger|Fritom is also a partner of the Naoberschap United foundation. FC Emmen’s initiative to make a positive contribution to the local community.
FC Emmen was founded in 1925. It is the only professional football club in the province of Drenthe, with stadium ‘de Oude Meerdijk’ as its home base. On May 20th, 2018 the football club was promoted to the premier league of the Netherlands for the very first time. The Naoberschap United foundation was founded during that same year. FC Emmen wants to connect the regional community with the help of this foundation.
Several social projects have been initiated by the Naoberschap United foundation, like activities for the elderly and stimulating the participation in sports for people with disabilities. Next to this the project FC Emmen Streetleague was started, where young people receive football training on neighborhood squares and can follow workshops.
The foundation also helps people who have a distance to the labor market. For this reason the foundation works side-by-side with the Dutch unemployment agency UWV and USG-restart. Our partnership with Naoberschap United already brought us a new colleague. Working at Oldenburger|Fritom gave him the chance of a future to look forward to.
The name of the FC Emmen business lounge in 2019-2020 was inspired by our joint ambition in corporate social responsibility: Oldenburger|Fritom 4P Hotspot. The combination of the 4Ps reflects the ideal balance between economical goals and the growth of sustainable regional developments.
The ‘P’ of ‘Pleasure’ was intentionally added to the above list. Social sustainability stimulates the support amongst all parties involved. The business lounge of FC Emmen offers the business community, educational institutions, civil society organizations and other sports clubs in the south-eastern part of Drenthe a network location to connect. That’s why the tagline reads: together we take our corporate social responsibility.
