"Automating as many reports as possible to relieve my colleagues."
Since 2022, Jarno ten Caat has worked as a Report & Control employee in the eponymous department of Oldenburger|Fritom. In this role, he focuses on various tasks and projects.
Jarno: “Besides financial reporting, my colleagues and I focus on invoicing and accounts receivable monitoring. I also handle HRM-related matters, including payroll administration. In addition, I support my managers during audits.”
Lean Six Sigma
Jarno also derives a great deal of energy from continuously optimizing processes according to the Lean Six Sigma method. In early 2024, he obtained his Green Belt certification. “Based on extensive analyses, my goal is to automate as many reports as possible to relieve my colleagues.”
Jarno cites the development and rollout of dashboards in Power BI, of which he is a key user, as an example. “Being able to effectively switch between our different business units and departments is incredibly important in this regard. It gives me great satisfaction to contribute to achieving more efficient processes.”
Controlling post-bachelor certificate
At Oldenburger|Fritom, every employee has the opportunity to pursue additional training alongside their work. Jarno obtained the Controlling post-bachelor certificate at the Nyenrode Business University. "This program has deepened and broadened my financial knowledge and management skills."
The knowledge acquired during the program was put into practice. Jarno wrote a paper with fellow students and provided advice on Oldenburger|Fritom's warehousing invoicing. "Our advice has been implemented in our operational processes since early 2025."
