At the end of last year, all warehouse shift leaders of Oldenburger|Fritom obtained the Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certificate. One of the outcomes of their training was that a so-called Daily Standup adds value to our warehousing operation.
That is why we recently implemented the Daily Standup. Not only in our warehouses but also in the office. In short, a Daily Standup is a standing meeting of a maximum of 10 to 15 minutes that takes place daily at a fixed time.
Topics during this short meeting include:
Visual management
The Daily Standup contributes to the structured implementation of improvements within our organization. Visual management is crucial in this regard. Therefore, during the meeting, our colleagues stand around a board that concisely displays the most important information.
This way, the Daily Standup promotes mutual communication and engagement, with improvement actions being implemented immediately. This results in fewer deviations, which contributes to our pursuit of optimal customer satisfaction.
