Last weekend the 9th edition of the KardingeRun took place in the Dutch city of Groningen: the biggest obstacle run in the Northern Netherlands! New this year was the Business Run, for which five to eight people could register on behalf of a company.
This was enthusiastically embraced by several of our colleagues. Team Oldenburger|Fritom was formed under the leadership of team captain Cor Klontje. In addition to Cor, our team was represented by Arjan Brouwer, Mats Dale, Melvin van Zonneveld, Milko Dale, Pieter Booi, Pieter-Jan van der Laan and René Bos.
Together they stood at the start of the 12-kilometer route on Saturday. The route ran through the green parts of Ulgersmaborg, a district in the northeast of the city of Groningen. Here Team Oldenburger|Fritom braved the most diverse sporting challenges: mud puddles, Kardinge Mountain and other obstacles. The finish was on the beach of Zilvermeer.
Sustainable character
The KardingeRun paid a lot of attention to sustainability last weekend. The amount raised with empty water bottles will go towards tackling poverty in Groningen. Furthermore, the medals are made from potato starch, which requires much less handling, production time and ink. The ribbon is made from recycled PET material (RPET).
Oldenburger|Fritom is of course very proud of our colleagues and would like to thank the KardingeRun for the excellent organization!
