Yesterday, Oldenburger|Fritom shipped Green Falcon, the solar car of Top Dutch Solar Racing (TDSR), by air freight to Australia. The student team from the Northern Netherlands will participate in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge from August 24 to August 31.
The international race for solar-powered cars covers 3,000 kilometers across the Australian outback, from the start in Darwin to the finish in Adelaide. Oldenburger|Fritom will also be supporting the Top Dutch Solar Racing-team as a logistics partner during the 2025 edition.
A unique team
During its first participation in 2019, Top Dutch Solar Racing was immediately successful with the presentation of the Excellence in Engineering Award. Every reason to continue with this unique team composition. Unique, because TDSR is a multidisciplinary team consisting of students from trade schools and universities combined. Together with regional partners, they are building a solar car.
This year, the solar car has been named Green Falcon and was presented last month in the center of the northern Dutch city of Groningen. TDSR’s marketing manager Julliette Evers is clear about the goal in Australia: “This year, we want to bring the title to the Northern Netherlands for the first time.”
Proud partner
Oldenburger|Fritom has been a TDSR-partner from the very beginning. We proudly take care of the transport of the solar car by air freight to Australia. In addition, we support the team with our logistical expertise in customs matters and safety. This allows the students to fully focus on the solar car and their team performance before and during the race.
We wish Top Dutch Solar Racing every success with all the preparations down under!
